I tried and only works for pages and blog entries. Im trying to extend it to portfolios but without success

Okay, the plugin Duplicate Post also works for cloning Portfolios. It was my fault that I did not look for it enough. Just go to the settings of the plugin, access the 'Permissions' tab and check the box 'Portfolio'. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you very much for your time
