Hi there, since I lost my whole website during the last try to update the Kalium theme I wanted to double-check how I can backup / restore all my customisations and options?! Is it enough to save "Transfer Theme Options Data" under Appearance/Theme Options / Backup Options?? Do I also need the "Backup and Restore Options" above? Or is this an alternative? Am I totally on the save side? Or do I also need a backup of the database? I already activated Envato Market Update Tool, but this also tells me that all customisations will be lost! Please help! Thank you very much!!
If you haven't changed any file in Kalium directory: wp-content/themes/kalium/ then you don't need to worry about theme options backup.
Theme options are stored in database, and updating the theme won't affect these settings. However, its preferable to always create a backup before updating.
Theme options will be lost in case you switch from Kalium to Kalium child theme, but there is still a way to import settings to childtheme, by backing up from parent theme and restoring them in child theme, in theme options > backup section.
In case you have modified files inside main Kalium folder, then you need to create backup of theme folder as well.
Dear Arlind, thank you for your reply. Although you say that theme options are not effected by an update I lost all theme options during the last update so I wonder how that could have happened. As far as I know I didn't change anything in the main Kalium theme folder. I only used two or three custom CSS entries in the main WP interface for the video player appearance and changed some font colours, portfolio appearance, etc. Only visual stuff using the simple "theme options" and "portfolio settings". Nevertheless all was gone after the update! So will the mentioned backup (Backup and Restore Options / Transfer Theme Options Data) avoid this happening again?? Or what exactly is backed up using those functions? Best, Markus
Dear Arlind, Envato Market and API key etc. are already installed. But that's what I did last time as well and it failed. :( So if you could install the update for me I'd really appreciate that. Best regards and thank you very much, Markus
Sometimes Rocket Script (implemented in your host) cause this to happen and thus javascript files do not properly load including styling as well, can you please disable rocketscript here:
Dear Ylli, thank you for the fast reply. Before I asked you I already tried to switch off Cloudflare completely - just to be sure. No change. Although I emptied all caches etc.! And also cloudflare never was an issue before. So I doubt that it is a cloud flare issue. I also checked all image files on the server and they are all still where they ought to be. Any other ideas?? Best regards, Markus
Dear Ylli, I tried to switch off cloudflare again...and all of a sudden it works...very strange?! So I try to change the "rocket settings" as you told me and see what happens. Best, Markus
Dear Ylli, just in case somebody else has the same issue...the solution for me was PURGING THE CLOUDFLARE CACHE...no all works fine...including rocket loader! ;) Best regards, Markus
is there any reason that the access to the Kalium Theme Options Site is incredibly "INCREDIBLY" slow?? I do have super-fast 120MBit Internet and every hundreds of sites are working like a charm. Only accessing the Kalium Theme options is almost impossible. It literally takes minutes! How can this be? Best, Markus
We don't have this issue on our theme and it was not reported by any user, and it should fine for you too. Can you please disable all your third-party plugins (plugins that don't come with our theme) one by one, and check if this problem is solved.
Dear Ylli, deactivating all plug-ins unfortunately didn't work...I also tried to deactivate all your original plug-ins (just in case) but no luck. I tried to load the "Backup options" again and it still took 5 minutes! For some reason all other pages in the backend work fine and fast. It's only the "backup options" under "theme options". The Web inspector showed up a 404 error with a missing resource under www.markusroche.com/wp-admin/1 and 3185...(see attachment). In the directory there's only a file called "2" and no file called "1" or "3185". How can this be? And what are those files good for anyway? The file called "2" only includes the word "User" when I open it with text edit... I hope you can help! Thank you in advance and best regards, Markus

Hi Markus,
Thats weird how you've lost these options, because we have many clients and did't reported an issue with theme options after updating the theme.
If you want I can update the theme for you, to make sure you will not loose anything.
I'll record also my screen while updating your site.
I need you to set up the Envato Market plugin information that can be installed in Appearance > Install Plugins
That will allow you to update the theme directly from Envato.
Dear Arlind, Envato Market and API key etc. are already installed. But that's what I did last time as well and it failed. :( So if you could install the update for me I'd really appreciate that. Best regards and thank you very much, Markus
Hi Markus,
I've recorded my screen while updating your site:
http://drops.laborator.co/LIzt
Theme is updated to latest version available.
I've also saved a backup of theme options before updating the theme:
http://drops.laborator.co/PyTs
Dear Arlind, thank you very much. Unfortunately my site now looks like this (see attached screenshots)! ;(
So general layout is still there, but all thumbs and buttons are gone?! How can that be?? Please help!
Best,
Markus
Hi Markus,
Hmm, I think that the problem is not comming from the theme but from the CloudFlare settings.
(view on new page)
Sometimes Rocket Script (implemented in your host) cause this to happen and thus javascript files do not properly load including styling as well, can you please disable rocketscript here:
Settings > CloudFlare Settings > Performance Settings > Rocket Loader >Toggle Off.
And see if you issue is solved.

Hi Markus,
This question is related to theme developer and I am unable to give you any solution about this because I am not backend developer.
Our theme developer Arlind can help you with this, but he is not in the office until 03 Jan.
When Arlind come back, just reply to this thread and you will make sure he will see your comment.
Hope for your understanding and Happy Holidays from Laborator.
