Is it possible to change the portfolio items URL from:
http://www.simplyquote.me/portfolio/portfolio-item-one
to
http://www.simplyquote.me/quotes/portfolio-item-one ?
I had a look at the Kalium Agency skin, and it was indeed changed. The issue is how?

Yes that is possible, here follow these steps:

Basically go to Theme Options > Portfolio Settings > Portfolio Page and set custom slug for portfolio item in "Custom portfolio item URL prefix" field.
