My Portfolio-Page (which should show the different portfolio-items) is based on your template. Though there are settings within the „Theme Options“ panel as well as on the page itself, I can´t get my preferred settings to work. Setting the order (Asc, desc), changing to full-page-spread or adding other items through Visual composer does not have any effect on the page itself.
I will no try to use the Standard page template and manually add my preferred portfolio items – but I wanted to let you know. Probably this is not only a problem in my installation …
There is not any problem with your installation, or with the theme but the problem is that you're using the wrong element to show the portfolio items, you should use any of the following elements for portfolio:
Probably the problem is completely different. I think the preview might not be of the actual page I´m trying to change settings on. It might be there´s another page with the same url (in the trash or in the cache or wherever) that´s showing up when previewing the page. I changed the url and now it works as expected. Strange though …
Dear Laborator, I figured out what went wrong: At the end of each portfolio item there´s a link (back) to the portfolio page. Actually by clicking there one gets redirected to the portfolio archive page instead of the portfolio page, which is different in design. I found that I could set the link to my own portfolio page in the settings for each portfolio item, so now everything´s fine. Its just a bit irritating …

I see that you have set the page to a Portfolio Page and you also have a Post Grid which is not recommended because it will mash up everything.
