I'm updating an existing site that has quite a few blogposts, and it would be ideal if a single post could be set to have a sidebar on the left. I know I can do it going forward with Visual Composer, but I'm hoping there's some way to add some code or something so I don't have to go back through their 100+ posts and reformat them.
So the question is: is there a way to set the single blog page to have a sidebar on the left.
We are going to implement blog sidebar in the version 2.0 however if you cannot wait for a month then I can give you a workaround to temporary show sidebar in your blog posts (without need to edit all the posts) just tell me where do you want to align it, and also include FTP credentials so I can change the code and see how it works in your site.
To include your credentials click Insert Credentials button in editor toolbar. (See how)
So the file I have changed was tpls/post-single.php so here you have the current modified file in case you update the theme and you want to place again the sidebar:
I had a second look at the side bar you added and I'm so sorry, but I think it's better without it. I'm really hoping that the option coming in a month will have the sidebar in a column next to the main image instead of under it. So sorry for asking for double work, but it would be great if you could go in and remove what you added.
When the option comes out for a sidebar in the next version of the theme, will it be next to the header image? That's what we'd really love. As it is the header image appears huge, especially on the laptop.

Hi Zoe,
I've implemented the sidebar in blog page, see an example:

So the file I have changed was tpls/post-single.php so here you have the current modified file in case you update the theme and you want to place again the sidebar:

Fantastic! Thank you.
Hi Zoe,
Glad to hear that.
Hi There,
I had a second look at the side bar you added and I'm so sorry, but I think it's better without it. I'm really hoping that the option coming in a month will have the sidebar in a column next to the main image instead of under it. So sorry for asking for double work, but it would be great if you could go in and remove what you added.
Thanks so very much! Zoe
Hi Zoe,
No worries about that, I can take it out and put in as many times as you want. Now your blog does't have sidebar when its on single post.
Have a great day
Thank you!

Thank you as always for your rapid assistance!
