On the home page (Agency) it seems I can only get the portfolio items showing with the 'Portfolio Items' element in Visual Composer, and then the blog post times in 'Post Masonry Grid'.
I would love to have an element on the the page which shows BOTH portfolio items and blog items together, with the category filter menu at top, for both.
If you go to the link you will see the Post Masonry Grid element bringing in posts, the Auto Type element, then the Portfolio Items element bringing portfolio Items/Posts. The portfolio items don't show up as posts...?

What you are trying to implement is impossible, you cannot filter both of the elements with a single filter that is not related to the blog.
