PHP limits

Hi, I have read the article about PHP limits and asked many providers since there is a serious problem with max_execution_time 180. All other criteria are met with breeze, but currently I have 7 instead of 180, so I asked everywhere and they usually have 30s, sometimes 45s and rarely up to 90s, but almost nobody offers 180s and if they do, the service is extremely expensive and in a pack with features I would never ever need for a simple portfolio site.

I am asking this, because I read problems with installing Kalium demo content. I have tried it and it installed with almost nothing in it, no images, no layout etc. almost a blank page. My question is how important or fundamental is the number 180s in terms, if I change it to i.e. 45s or 60s or 90s would it work fine or I do have to meet this criteria?

And does it affect my work with Kalium theme as well or it affects only demo content? In other words, can I use fully Kalium theme if I do not meet 180s max execution time?

    Thank you

    Regards

    Roman

    Hi Roman,

So you are you saying that max_execution_time is only 7 instead of 180?

  • Roman replied

    Hi Ylli,

yes, currently it shows only 7. Ohter parameters are in green and are met. This one, is in red. So I asked my provider whether they can make it higher so I was told that the maximum would be 45 in a different package. So I asked other providers and they told me that they have 90s.

    Hi Roman,

I can guarantee you that from the 25k+ clients that we have, i haven't seen an single user that it's max_execution_time is only 7. Is this hosting provider joking with you?

Well you need to solve this problem in order to install not our theme, but every WordPress theme that you buy. None of them will work if your max_execution_time is only 7.

    Hi Ylli,

the provider is unfortunately and apparently not joking, judging according to the reply I got from their support that I should chose " a less intensive theme". This leads me back to one of my questions - how important is to meet the 180? Would the theme work with 45, 60 or 90?

    Thanks

    Roman

    Hi Roman,

That is needed if you want to install any of our demo-content templates only.

Maybe it works on 90 too, but the best way is to be 180.
