    Hi,

    after theme update or updating some plugins - some of my files are cleared, like functions.php - so I lost some needed data.

    What would be the good way to prevent this?

    (not only with doing backups)

    Hi Alexander,

    So you have edited functions.php file, you need to use Child theme when you need to edit theme files next time and those files you need to replace on the Child theme.
