The first solution regarding the CSS did not work. Still the spacing between the links on the main menu is not consistent. Generally speaking it seems the custom css section is not working.
I have several questions:
1. the spacing in the main menu between the two links is not correct. I could not fix it. The menu from right to left.
2. The portfolio items feed on the home page will be added when I add a new portfolio item. I want to keep it as five on home page.
3. Site is slow how can I increase the speed of the site. What needs to be turned off to help the speed?

It worked I needed to change the word left to right.
