Portfolio Item WPML Editor Translation Error with all gallery images

    I started to translate my first final portfolio item with the WPML editor and it ends up wit a lot of error messages on frontend for every image in the gallery. See screenshots. Is there any hint? i don't want to change anything dramatic at the moment. The images are present in the other language.

    Is it a must to activate WPML Media plugin?

    I opened the with WPML editor translated item with normal WordPress editor and saved without modification and now it works - not really a solution but perhaps a hint for you where the error could be.

    Hi Andre,

    Thank you for reporting this issue. I have debugged the output of "gallery" custom field on both languages and here are how the results are parsed from WPML:

    ENGLISH:

    medium
    (view large image)

    FRENCH:

    medium
    (view large image)

    This means that the WPML is breaking the array for unknown reasons! I have checked the translation status of the field using ACFML plugin by WPML and the status of the custom field is properly set to Copy Once:

    medium
    (view large image)

    I believe that there is some misconfiguration in the WPML but I don't know what exactly is.

    One step to debug this issue in more depth I have imported the ACF fields in your site which are the same as the ones in acfpro-fields.php file.

    So now you can control the fields translations directly on Portfolio Edit Item page. For this you need to install ACFML plugin.

    Please let me know if you can manage to find a solution on this one!

    Hi Arlind,

    PLEASE let me know what to do to make your changes undone!!! Actually i get in normale page translations all fields for translation. This is not possible for the translator to handle.

    I could delete the field groups in ACF - is that right?

    HELP HELP HELP

    i deactivated all field groups in ACF but i see in every normal page translation a lot of content (like in the screenshot) We have to make original and one translation ready until monday and i need the way to turn your changes back.

    It works by deleting the special ACF fields / to disable has not worked.

    But now we have the problem with WPML still open. What are your ideas for the portfolio items?

    Hi Andre,

    I am sorry for the delay of answer, I was really busy on friday and not available on weekend.

    The solution I proposed you is what worked for few users who had similar issue, I don't know why in your case, see the attachment for a user it worked 2 weeks ago.

    So now I am totally not sure what might be solution here, the output of ACF fields is managed by WPML and when you tried to directly manage field translation even with imported fields it didn't worked.

    I am unable to figure out a solution here, unless a WPML developer (not a support guy) can guide what might be the problem because it will grind my gears all the day and I will not be able to find what is going on.

    I'd be happy to help you but I certainly need support from WPML as well.
