Portfolio archive page: Thumbnail image resolution

I have set my thumbnail resolution to '1080x1080' in "Portfolio Settings" -> "Portfolio Layout" at "Thumbnail Options".

Now i made some "special" pages with fixed layout for a fixed screen resolution and used in Page Builder the portfolio item to embed portfolio items in same style like i see my portfolio archive page in 3 items per row layout. All is working normal BUT the thumbnail image resolution is NOT being adopted for the fixed screen. Some years ago i started a ticket with a similar question and there was a workaround to force the "highest" thumbnail resolution. This trick isn't working anymore and now the questions is: how to do this now? How can i force the highest resolution?

    Hi again,

Thank you for sharing the login credentials.

The reason why we need the site login for some questions is because each site has different behavior based on its setup so we have to check where the problem is coming from and what could be causing it.

Could you also provide the URL of the page you are working in, I have checked under the pages but could not figure out which is the page you have created.

    Best regards,
    Laborator Team

    Dear Art

    of course:

the page i meant is https://www.bild-werk-statt.ch/de/digital-signage/ds-uebersicht/

This page is custom optimized for HD and 4K displays - if you use Chrome and set it to "Inspect" with HD (1920x1080) or 4K (3860x 2160) in portrait mode the page is rendered perfectly on the screen with a little changes of the page css / delivered by a custom style sheet via functions.php.

My question is only: how to force the thumbnails to be in the max quality - actually they are not.

    Regards André

    Lett me add this screenshot....

The small images are ok in HD but the big one is not delivered in the right resolution. and if you switch to 4K all images are not in the best/right resolution.

    Hi again,

To get the images to show the maximum image size I have installed  Disable Responsive Images Complete plugin, which does not use a different image size for every screen size based on the device you are viewing - its how WordPress handles images by default.

Regarding the image quality, by default the WordPress image JPEG quality is 82% while I can see yours is 90% you can improve the quality of them and change it to not compress the quality of the image by setting it to 100%.

Hoping this has helped fix your issue with image size in portfolio.
