To set images for the portfolio items, in your admin dashboard navigate through Portfolio and select the portfolio item you want to edit, then scroll down to Featured Image area and set an image to it:
fyi. mine actually looks different, and required a couple more clicks to find
These are the clicks:
Portfolio>edit to open page>settings cog(to make side panel appear)>Portfolio items side tab>scroll down in order to see featured image
imho, it would be great if the featured image could be accessed by simply clicking the thumbnail on the portfolio page (see snapshot).
nb. I was searching the documentation for "Thumbnail" because that is what it is called in the portfolio page. Perhaps "Thumbnail" should be renamed "Featured Image" for consistency?
Thanks for quick reply to help me find this.
I don't think I would have found it without your help, because i did not know the name of it "Thumbnail/Featured Image". I would never have thought to explore under the cog icon, because I thought that would be for accessing user settings not editing the content of a post.
Happy to hear that you have found the place to replace the image, regarding the suggestion about Featured Image/Thumbnail - the default WordPress string is Featured Image and we have left it untouched not to interfere with the default WordPress strings.
How do I display a thumbnail for posts on the main portfolio page. Currently they are just a flat color with an animated eyeball.
I want to put my own jpg or animated gif there.
Please let me know where these thumbnails are configured.
Maybe I am going blind but I can not seem to find where this is done.
Cheers,
Mark
