line hight of smaller text

    Hi there,

I know where to change the line hight of regular paragraph text.
However, when I have a passage with smaller text inside a paragraph, the line hight seems to depend on the regular pragraphs line hight. I would like to make it smaller, as it seems a bit big to me. Where can I do that?

    All the best,
    Petra

    Hi Petra,

You will need to give that small font a class so we can identify it to have a different line height from the paragraph, or you can use the <small> selector and then you can manage it from the Typography.

    Hi Art,

thank you for your reply. I would love to “use the <small> selector and then [...] manage it from the Typography.”

I saw that there is the <small> to select when changing the type size in the editing view (it is called “Klein” because it's displayed in German on my computer). However, I cannot find that setting in the Typography section under Laborator. It shows the “P” for paragraphs, but no “small” or “klein” or anything similar.

    Hi again,

Under Typography > Fonts select the font you are using and if you don't find any kind of selector you can simply write it down, see the example below:

    Thank you Art!

This menu is only available, when you use a Google font (or maybe some other). But for the website we're currently using Arial, so there are some kind of fields, but not for the small and also it doesn't allow to add a new one. Screenshot attached.

    Thanks,
    Petra

    Hi there,

I have added a new font under Fonts which is the system font so you will be able to add selectors and classes, I have added .has-small-font-size and set the font line height to 1.25 EM

    Thank you Art,

I found it and I could apply it to the piece of text. Manipulating the line hight works fine. But it doesn't allow me to change the text size. No matter what value or unit I choose, it always looks the same. It needs to be a bit smaller, to have a clear distinction to the regular paragraph text.

Is it also possible to change the colour? If it has an own class anyway, it should, I assume.

    Hi again,

The reason why it does not change the font sizes is because you are changing the font size directly from Gutenberg editor (WordPress) which has priority over all font sizes set elsewhere, so I have modified the typography again by adding .kalium-small-font class to it and if you want to manage font sizes from the typography area then just add the the kalium-small-font class to the paragraph block you want to change and it will change the size depending on what font size you have set:

    Thank you Art!

I now was able to manipulate the line hight and also the colour of the font, thank you. I will have to do some research how to get the CSS class there myself, but for now it is working and my problem is solved.

Thank you very much vor your help and patience!

    Kind regards,
    Petra
