We are already working on a new Kalium update that will focus on the WooCommerce part of the theme, a lot of pages will see design changes including the Checkout page but we don't think that we will introduce options to change the layout of checkout page. If you want to change the Checkout page layout you must add your CSS changes or if you want to make drastic changes then you need to modify theme files.

I wrote a few months ago about changing layout on checkout page.
I have changed it, but it's not how it should be.
You wrote that there would be added an option in theme settings, where it would be able to change the layout for the checkout screen.
How far are you with that ?
