thanks for this, it isn't really what i looking for. i dont want a centered text, i need another box on the left side of the text. so that the text ist floated left but starts with disance. i tried margin, but then the sidebar breaks in the next line and padding doesn't works. any other ideas?

Hi again illy,

Hope you had a nice weekend.

I could not leave it alone and looked again.
when I started with the topic my first impulse was simply to set an empty image as a thumbnail. 
that didn't work then. 

I looked again I saw that I had unchecked "show post thumbnails" in the theme options.
after I checked this it works fine with an empty png with the dimensions 2048 x 8 px as an image.

Additionally, I have turned off the linking in the image:

.post-thumbnail a{ 
    pointer-events: none !important;
    cursor: default !important;
}

not very elegant but working.

If you have no better idea we are finished here and sorry for the annoyance.
