Category images can be added from Product > Categories, then select a category and add the image to each category. Then under Appearance > Customize go to WooCommerce > Product Catalog and set it to show the categories and products as shown in the image below:
From what I can see in your site there are only 4 categories showing in the shop page, have you managed to set up a limit for the categories and hide the sub-categories?
No, this was a temporary solution. We updated images with links instead of categories. However, the images do not create a shadow when hovering and are a set size while we want them smaller on mobil devices, so we were hoping to have the categories instead of the images if that was possible. The categories in bookstore just look better than these images.
By default WooCommerce does not allow you to specify how many categories you want to show, I have searched for this but there is not such a feature in WooCommerce so you will have to code it in your own if you want to limit the number of categories showing.
I have added automatic categories, now the problem is that the images which you have assigned to the category are not in the size they should be. They need to be square for example 500x500 pixels and with a spacing around them, as this one.
Hi,
How can we add category icons to our shop such as the ones you have on your bookstore page? See screenshot.

Hi Art,
We only wish to display four of our categories and none of our subcategories. Is there a way to do that?
