    Hi,

For the bookstore theme, on the home page, all the categories are shown, even the subcategories. For example, on our web site this shows the "science fiction" category which is a subcategory of fiction. On the product page, Products – The Small Library Company only the top level categories are shown. Is it possible to make the home page the same as the product page? I realise that I can specifically list all the categories I want shown in the "Product Categories Settings", but this seems tedious and needs changing if a new category is added. Also, the "Columns" and "Number" seem to be ignored?

    Thank you,

    David

    Hi David,

You can choose which categories to show by editing the categories element and then choose only the categories you want to show:

    medium

    Hi Art,

Yes, I know, and that's what I said in my question: "I realise that I can specifically list all the categories I want shown in the "Product Categories Settings", but this seems tedious and needs changing if a new category is added. "  How can I just show the top level categories without listing them all?

Also, please can you answer this part: the "Columns" and "Number" seem to be ignored?

    Many thanks,

    David

    Hi David,

    1. The product categories element is inherited through WPBakery Page Builder (the editor) so there is no possibility from our side to change it, I searched for a function or code which would show only the top level categories (parent categories) but unfortunately could not find anything, so the best solution right now is to manually load only the ones you want to show.

    2. I have removed some CSS code which was preventing the changes, if you change the number of columns now it should be applied live on your site.

    Best regards,
    Laborator Team
