    Hi,

I would like to create a portfolio item page that has text at the top laid out in two different size columns, like at the top (only above the images, which I want in Masonry) show in the attachment. see attachment.  So Rather than a single wide column (see link supplied), I would like to have, in addition to the text column, a smaller column next to it ('Services' in attachment pic) showing project references, client, date etc. .  Can you point me in the right direction?

Also are there any good tutorials you could recommend for Kalium for beginners? Struggling a bit getting started.

    Many thanks, Jonas

    Hi Jonas,

1— We have used the Zig-Zag portfolio layout for that project (see video). And the think that the same design is offered by Columend and Carousel item types.

2— Please take your time and read Kalium Documentation articles, we have prepared more than 150 articles where you can find very useful information about your theme.

    Have a nice day!

    HI Ylli

Is there then a way to  - in general - separate the top text block (in any layout that has text on top) in two columns, or two blocks side by side, of different widths?
    Have a great weekend,

    Hi Jonas,

Options like that are possible only if you choose the WPBakery Page Builder layout and then build your portfolio project with WPBakery Page Builder.

    Thanks!

Thanks, Ylli. I have made an item in the Project section (https://www.stedingk-design.com/wordpress/projects/new-york-city-bus-shelter/) and would like to curate my home page so that the 'thumbnail' appears there.

Can you show me where I can find how to do this?

    Thanks,
    Jonas

    Hi Jonas,

In each portfolio type that you choose you have the Project Gallery option to populate your project with images, videos, etc.

    See video: https://d.pr/v/HkoyKQ

    Thanks!

    Hi Ylli,

Maybe I didn't phrase my question correctly.
    - my homepage is https://www.stedingk-design.com/wordpress/
    - I created a sample portfolio item here: https://www.stedingk-design.com/wordpress/projects/new-york-city-bus-shelter/

Question: How do I make the portfolio item above appear in the preview pictures, with titles, on the homepage (pictures as you scroll down)? It appears on the project page only (https://www.stedingk-design.com/wordpress/our-projects/).

Also another question :  Is there an option to chose a more visible icon for the menu, rather than the little hamburger with 2 bars?  Or make it bigger? Any ideas?

    Many thanks,
    Jonas

    Hi Jonas,

1— I can see that you are using the Architecture demo, in that demo homepage we have used the Masonry Portfolio, which requires users to add portfolio projects manually.

You can use the Portfolio Items element instead, please see this video: https://d.pr/v/tefRI5

    Have a nice day!

    Thanks, Ylli.

A new thing happened today.  When I go to classic mode I still get all the html in the 'visual' tab, and, bizarrely, font is formatted too, although HTML...

I don't think it was like that before?

    thank you,
    Jonas

Also would like a bigger hamburger icon.  Is that possible?

    [EDIT]

and final question for today (not to worry, I will soon be more independent as soon as I am more familiar with the system...) :  - if I create a square portfolio item picture on the home page (4-large or 6-medium, I think, on a computer screen), these are no longer square when viewed on mobile screen, but cuts the image in two, roughly.  That is not a viable solution, as none of my picture  allow for being reframed in that way, they need to be the same format (square) when viewed on mobile device / small screen too.  So 3 questions in all today - hope that is OK.

Many thanks, have a nice weekend,

    Jonas

    Hi Jonas,

You are using an old version of our theme 3.0.8.1, the latest version for the moment is 3.3.1 (read release notes), please update your theme first and then the premium plugins too.

    --------

P.S: I can see on your System Status page that some of your PHP version is lower than WordPress and modern themes require.

    medium
    (view on a new page)

For more info please carefully read this article WordPress and Kalium Server Requirements, and on this page you can find a sample email that you can send to your hosting provider too.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ylli,

Thank you for answer. Two things :

1 -   I have updated Kalium to version 3.3.1.  Unfortunately I cannot update the PHP to the latest, because it shuts down my old website, which still needs to be up until the new Kalium one is completed.  Hence I cannot update the 2 plugins asked for either, as they require latest PHP.  One of those plugins is Smart Slider (which I dont think Kalium is using?) and the other is Webcraftic Clearfy.

Once PHP will be updated, will I be able to change the format of the mobil screen view to square rather than landscape? Is that an option somewhere or does it require special services, or it is something that can be done by Laborator Help Service?  I would need to know for sure before I start formatting previews.  I am a bit surprised that an Architecture theme defaults into landscape pictures on mobile (roughly 50% of traffic) as some buildings can be quite tall.  I need to show things like lamp posts which do not lend themselves to landscape either...

2 - Is there an answer to the hamburger issue below?

    Thanks Ylli!
    All best
    Jonas

    Hi Jonas,

1— Don't worry, Kalium supports PHP 5.6 for the moment but you need to update to PHP 7.4 as soon as possible to have a more secure and faster site.

As for the mobile screen view, you can simply use the Portfolio Items element of WPBakery Page Builder instead of the Masonry Portfolio element so they will show perfect for every device.

See an example how I called portfolio items with that element: https://d.pr/v/wxgtOe

2—  As for the hamburger menu question:

I just did that for you: https://d.pr/v/X8Nhwg

    Have a nice day!
