I need to add the standard Woocommerce "Filter by" attributes widget to the top of the Woocommerce header, next to the "Sort by" Widget. They can appear one below the other in Mobile view. Please help. (see attached for position)
That's not possible through the theme, you can use a plugin which can do that but it's not possible to add a filter by attribute directly from WooCommerce or the theme.
Thank you for your response. Could you suggest a plugin that I could use? I have looked at some but they look complicated and require coding knowledge which i am not to great at. Would really appreciate your help on this one.
I would like to help you but unfortunately I have not used any plugin for filtering in the theme so I can't suggest you something which I have never tried.
I managed to place the 'Filter by " attributes next to the "Sort by" on the shop pages using a plugin. I noticed that the AURUM theme 'Filter by' (query type AND) only allows you to choose once - you cannot choose another attribute if I want to change. You have to go back to get the options to show again.
The attributes query type OR works fine but it does not suit my design. Does'n't look good or work well in mobile browser.
These should be in the plugin options as they are not native to the theme, please get in touch with the plugin support about questions related to the plugin.
I'm sorry but I don't agree. The plugin I used only allows me to place the "Filter by" widget into other positions on website, it does not have any other styling or functionality.
I have tried using the standard theme customiser and placing the theme widget in regular theme positions and it looks and behaves the same way as I described in my previous post.
i.e. If I remove my plugin and place the "Filter by" widget into my footer for example it behaves the same way.
How could this be a theme issue when this is not a theme or WooCommerce feature, the feature implemented when you installed the plugin which means it is coming from the plugin and not the theme, to test this switch to a default WordPress theme or Storefront (WooCommerce default) to test it.

'Sort by' should appear before 'Filter by'

See here for example or both AND and OR filter on this page: https://ravatsjewellers.co.za/product-category/watches/casio/
Is there a way this can be fixed so that the OR choices remain available after one is selected so the visitor can choose another?
Kind regards,
Farhad
