I created a portfolio page as my start page (via portfolio page template) with different portfolio categories. Now I don't want to show all of these categories. I tried the Custom Query on the bottom of the portfolio page and tried to sort it via every single of the three options (portfolio items, select from category, select from tags) but nothing worked. It still shows all of the items and categories. Is there some meta setting I have to change? As I've understood it, normally the settings on the bottom of a single page should overrite those...
But shouldn't it also work with the options below a portfolio template page? Because another problem is that I don't get the WPBakery Page Builder to show my gallery full-width. It stays centered, even if I cklick "Yes" in the Full-Width-Container... (see attached pictures). This is why I wanted to use the portfolio template. So eather gallery type doesn't work in a certain way for my pupose....Hope you can help.
In the portfolio which you have already you can only select which categories to show, but you cannot exclude a category as I explained in my previous reply. The reason why the Full-width container is not showing is because you will have to set the row to Stretch row and content.

Thanks so much for your help,

Hi Franzyskah,
You can use the WPBakery Page Builder build query if you want to exclude any category, type the category under Taxonomies and tap it until it is red:
