Hi Max,

To create a custom Portfolio page and arrange content as you want it is required to use WPBakery since we support Portfolio Items in WPBakery Editor. Unfortunately there is no way for Elementor to manage that page except moving the "the_content" function under or above the portfolio items. 

For this, you need to create a page with Portfolio Page template and then edit with Elementor. Normally, the_content is called after page title but we can move that below or above the portfolio items, I just need to login to your site and apply the code, you have to tell me where to put the Elementor content.

I have modified "tpls/portfolio-single-2.php" and moved "the_content" below portfolio gallery:

So now when you edit the page with Elementor it displays after the content added by our theme:

As for "assign display pages portfolio categories" what do you really mean here because I am unable to figure out what this exactly means.

Do you mean categories to have thumbnails such as clicking the portfolio category to show the thumbnail assigned to the category?
