I have many, many images to add to each portfolio item (around 70 images to each of 20 portfolio items), and I want to display each single page as a masonry formatted display of images.

Previously, for small numbers of images, I have used the "columned" portfolio item type, as I think this is the only one which gives me a masonry single page which I can click through into a lightbox, but with 70x20=1400 images to insert from the media database, the "columned" option only allows me to insert them one-by-one - which obviously is not practical.

Can you advise how to insert multiple media items at a time into a masonry style single portfolio page, with similar results to the "columned" option?

• The Lightbox item type allows multiple selection of images, but does not display a masonry overview.

• The Columned item type allows either a single image or an image slider, but again masonry only works when I enter one image after another, selecting the column width for each one by one.

• Perhaps a third party gallery plugin(?) will allow me to insert a masonry overview which I can click through into a lightbox, but I would need to integrate this with the portfolio post type hierarchy.

• Might the WPBakery Page Builder portfolio item type allow me to do something? There doesn't seem to be much documentation on that. It doesn't seem to let me select any images at all...

I knew I must be doing something wrong - It was taking such a long time using the columned type, setting up column widths for each picture etc!!
