    how would you do the red crossing that occurs when you go on a product details page and it shows the price and next to it the crossed out price in red to show its in sale

    That's not something that's managed by the theme, in the product you have created set a Sale price, there you have a place where you have to set the price and another one to set the price on sale, then it will automatically style the old price.
