Hi. I am a professional photographer who is setting up an archive of past projects based on the Freelancer demo in Kalium.
I've read the KB and cannot find specific recommendations for sizing images for use on the site. I've found lots of discussion about different gallery styles, etc., but not best practices for photos.
My images start as high-res (30mb+ files). So downsizing before uploading to the site is necessary.
There is not a specific size for the images in your site but it is recommended that the images have smaller size so the site will load fast and be indexed good in the search engines. We usually recommend compressing the images using TinyPNG, it compresses PNG and JPG images without loosing quality of them. Try resizing the images down to 2048 pixels in width if they are landscape.
