Portfolio item or product?

I am an artist who wants his art for sale on the website.  I liked and wanted to use the portfolio pages but wanted the final product (print, painting or drawing) to be for sale.  I have drawings that are inside "series".  So I wanted to have a page for category (drawings), a page for the series, and finally each item in the series should have a price and an "add to cart" button.  Should I enter my art for sale as portfolio items or products?  If the answer is products, then how do I create the category and series pages to be like your portfolio pages?

    Hi yfrigi,

Based on your description of how you want to organize your work I suggest you to create your artworks into products, this way you will have all the functionality to merchandise the work. If you find that product layout is not suitable for you, I can give you the code to add "WPBakery content" in product page so apart from product structure you can additionally add your content in your preferred structure. Does this works for you?

You can also check our showcase block which may help you decide which form of content you can go for:

Thanks Arlind.  I will use products.  One more question:  How do I go about organizing the work into series?  So I have product categories (original prints, paintings, and drawings), but each one has different series (Solunar series, lunar series, beach series) and then finally I get to the individual artwork level (Solunar series 1, 2, 3 or beach series 1,2,3,).  Are the series then subcategories?

Is this the hierarchy?  Original prints (category) > Solunar Series (subcategory) > Solunar series 1 (product)?

    Hello again,

Sure that is possible, category hierarchies are supported by WooCommerce, you can add the categories in the menu, then organize your work into submenus:

This way should be easier for you, if there is anything you cannot figure out during the way feel free to ask and I'll help you.
