For the News page the problem does not occur, 'cause I created the static page for IT and EN and I customized the SEO Title & Description with Yoast SEO.
The problem remains with Portfolio page, that is a dynmically generated page. I tried to create a page named 'Portfolio' with a custom SEO Title & Description (like News page) ... no success.
Today I have to publish the website, so I am searching a workaround... just a piece of code to insert in my child template...
my problem is well described in this picture. As you can see, I can't translate the title and the meta- description of the Portfolio page. Why? It's because Portfolio is a generated page. You can reproduce that with any Kalium website: you can't find any strings in the WPML String Translation or in Loco Translate. That's because this string is managed in the administration block without translation option (Laborator -> Theme Options-> Portfolio Settings -> Other Settings -> Title & Description) and it not appears in the strings list.
That not happens with News page, why? That's because created a News page, both IT and EN languages, each one with a custom Title and Meta description. If I create a page named 'Portfolio' with a custom Title/Meta Desc. I can't see it in my code :-/
But I don't see the WPML plugin installed or activated in your site? I found this article which can help you translate the categories and custom taxonomies.
sorry for my huge mistake. Of course you have all rights when you say "Portfolio Category". My bad.
You don't see any WPML plugin 'cause I'm working on a test area, in order to not trying my attempts on the production site, as suggested in any Wordpress best practices.
I readed the guide: it is for the child categories of "Portfolio" (i.e. Servizi, Cigarillo, etc. I actually can translate).
My problem for "Portfolio" page (mine "Prodotti e Servizi") remains. I am very glad to solve it manually in my child dir...
Happy to hear that Manni, you are also using outdated version of the theme (2.3.3) while the latest version of the theme is 2.5.1 and also don't forget to update all of your premium and free plugins.Guideto update the theme.
Happy to hear that you said "I am very glad to solve it manually in my child dir...", with that I understood that you have solved your issue. Enable WPML in this site so I can view the problem live.
Hello,
as the title says, I have a multi-language website. Translations are managed by WPML.
All is ok but the Portfolio page. I have the same SEO title and description for all language.
All strings in WPML Strings translation are update. URL slug is translated.
How can I translate it?
Hi Manni32,
Have you managed to translate it or you are still having issues?
Best regards,
Laborator Team

Hi there,
Can you tell me which is your portfolio page please? Are you using this as your portfolio?

Hi again,
I understand what you are saying but that is not a portfolio page, that is a portfolio category which you are using:

Sorry, I'm working on a dev website now.
THe problem is simple: how to change (manually, if you desire) SEO title and SEO description for the Portfolio page.
Do I need to modify header.php or something like that?
Thx.
Hi there,
You can't change that manually as it is a portfolio generated page and it will be managed through WordPress.
