Today I wanted to add a self hosted video to my portfolio via WPBakery and the "Video Player" item. However to my surprise, there is absolutely no option to include self hosted videos, only YouTube, Vimeo etc etc.
I am a bit surprised, since the theme is clearly being advertised with the self hosting video feature and it is one of the main reasons I bought it.
Could you please let me know how I can include a self hosted video (including preview JPG) to my portfolio via WPBakery? Did I miss something?
Using the WPBakery Page Builder it is not possible to add self hosted videos and it seems strange to me too but I don't see that we have advertised somewhere the self-hosted video. The only way to add a self-hosted video using WPBakery Page Builder seems to be using the sliders, you can create a slider and make it a video slider, then using WPBakery Page Builder add the slider you just created, this seems to be the only way to add a self-hosted video in your site.
In WpBakery Page Builder I just add the "WP Text" element. In this element I then can add media - aka self hosted video (including a preview image and two alt formats OGG and WebM).
Maybe it is for the blog posts and portfolio items but for WPBakery Page Builder I do not remember we have any banner since I have designed and added these banners in the ThemeForest item page by myself
Anyway, I am really happy that you found out how to add videos and thank you for sharing the solution with us.

Thanks for the reply Art,
I could swear on Themeforest it said next to Vimeo and YouTube it also offers the feature to implement self hosted videos (HTML5 videos).
However I figured out a way how it works in WPBakery Page Builder, basically the same way as it is described in your Calicum documentation: https://documentation.laborator.co/kb/calcium/video-post-format/
In WpBakery Page Builder I just add the "WP Text" element. In this element I then can add media - aka self hosted video (including a preview image and two alt formats OGG and WebM).
Best,
Mike
