Only way to show Social Icons on Header to at them as part of Menu Item, see the example:

You can add social network icons in this form:

<i class="fa fa-{icon-name}"></i> where {icon-name} is the icon from font awesome collection which can be found here:

http://fontawesome.io/icons

Here is how to find the icon name:

Please don't forget to tick this option:

(view on new page)

Then add it to menu item in Appearance > Menus

Are you still talking about Social Icons in Menu or regular Menu Items?

If you wanted to hide for both cases the underline paste the code below in Custom CSS area:

.main-header.menu-type-standard-menu .standard-menu-container.menu-skin-main div.menu > ul > li > a:after, 
.main-header.menu-type-standard-menu .standard-menu-container.menu-skin-main ul.menu > li > a:after{
    background: transparent;
}

First sorry to get back late to you, my kids were sick and situation was a bit critique but twins are fine now.

I checked the Menu Item with social media icon why it staying always underlined, for me is only on hover with underline effect, see the video https://d.pr/v/hoQtW5,

If you want to remove underline effect from hover, let me know.
