I am asking, if it possible to clone a portfolio item in the same way how it works with a regulare Post. I need to use the same layout for each Portfolio item and it would save many time, if a function of duplication or creating a template is existing.

Have you tried the Duplicate Post yet, you will be able to duplicate the posts and portfolio items.

Now it works! :-) I allready installed it befor, but in the settings "Enable for post type" Portfolio wasn't ticked.
