Hi, I have installed Kalium parent and kalium child. After that I activated kalium child I proceed to import education demo, but during this process some errors took place (see attached screen).

I checked my server parameters before installation and there are as follows:

    1. max_execution time 60 sec.
    2. memory limit: 128 MB
    3. post_max size: 32 MB
    4. max_input : 60 sec.

Are my serwer parameters so bad, that demo import cannot be done?

Now I reset my WordPress installation by using WordPress Reset Plugin.

Should I activate parent theme or child theme after installation?

    Thanks in advance

    Maq

    Hi Maq,

Your limits are a bit low and that is the main reason why the demo-content will not install. For more informations please read this article WordPress and Kalium Server Requirements carefully. There you have an sample e-mail that you can send to your hosting provider too.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ylli,

I think that 4 things could have affected the error during education demo installation.

    1) Yesterday, before the kalium installation I set the maximum server parameters only for the website available under the https protocol, and for http not. See attached screenshots. Now, I set the highest for both.

    2) For security reasons, after installing Wordpress, I blocked access to the xmlprc.php
file by adding the following entry in the .htccess Wordpress file:

    <files xmlrpc.php>

    order deny,allow

    deny from all

    </files>

It seems to me that the file should not be blocked while downloading your demo. I'm right?

After using WP Reset, the .htaccess file is clean - to be more precise - without command listed above.

    3) After installing Kalium parent theme and Kalium child theme I activated the child theme. Should  I activate the parent theme instead?

    4) Too low serwer parameters (see attached screenshots).

    My questions now:

    1) What is your opinion about my supposed causes of the problem I am referring to above?

    2) Which theme I should activate after installations - child or parent?

    3) What do you suggest to solve my problem?

Let me know if you still need my credentials - I will send it in next message.

    Thanks in advance

    Maq

    Hi Maq,

    — Sorry but I don't know if the xmlprc.php creates any problem or not.

    — You can activate the Main Kalium Theme or Child theme, Child Theme is more prefered for users who modify the core theme files.

If you don't plan to touch the core theme files (as 95% of the theme users) then you don't need to activate Child theme at all but just use the Main theme.

    — To check if your server has changed your PHP version and your PHP limits then you can go to your Wordpress dashboard > Laborator > System Status.

    — After you increase the limits and you see that all your limits are fine as on the first article that i send to you (link) then you can you can reset your Wordpress installation by using this plugin Wordpress Reset (By Matt Martz) and then activate the theme and try to install demo-content again.

If you still have any problem such as the typography error, then I will install typography manually for you. But you just need to send me your Wordpress credentials on a private reply.

    Thanks!

    Hi Maq,

I just imported Typography of the Education demo on your site.

    As for your last question:

That happened because maybe not all the areas where correctly imported on your site but I think that this will not be a problem for you because you will probably change those areas with your content.

    Thanks!

    Glad to hear that

P.S: If you like our theme, it would help us a lot if you could give us a five-star rating on Themeforest from your Downloads tab.

A huge thank you from Laborator in advance, and have a great weekend!

Will set this ticket as solved from here.
