Password protected portfolio - no navigation?

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the quick reply to my questions.

I got another one, I've seen when using a password protected portfolio piece/page that the navigation on the bottom "previous project" and "next project" is not visible. This feels a bit odd when clicking through portfolio pieces and having just one password protected item, since it will force the user to go back to the portfolio overview page instead of the next (unprotected) portfolio piece.

So my question is, is there a way to show "previous project" and "next project" on the bottom of a password protected portfolio page that leads to the next (unprotected) portfolio project?

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

I just tried this and the same problem is not happening to me as you can see from this video https://d.pr/v/3iZTCc.

Can you please check this again?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply Ylli,

In your video I can see exactly the same behavior.

Just to clarify, what I mean is that the navigation on bottom is not visible once you reach the page/protected post where you are supposed to enter the password. (It only becomes visible once you entered the password...)

However let's say certain users do not have the password to one specific portfolio item, then they can't just navigate directly to the next or previous portfolio item but need to go back to the main site again and start from there clicking on the project after the password protected one.

So I am wondering if there is a way to keep the navigation (Previous/Next project) also visible on a password protected portfolio item without entering the password.

    Hi Michael,

Now I understand exactly what you are talking about.

Unfortunately that is not possible. When page is protected Wordpress automatically disables all the things that are on that page and you can't choose what you want to show and what not.

If you're looking for professional help in this matter, there's always someone available for such tasks on the WP Kraken or Envato Studio. Pricing and timeline are always straightforward there and that's the main reason for recommending those services.

Thanks for your understanding and have a nice day!
