I've been building websites for years and know about different image sizes and caching. Please visit the website on a mobile device so you can see what I mean :) I'm quite certain something else is going on. The problem occurs when you scroll down the portfolio items and get to the 'show more' point. After that, certain images take almost a minute to load. That's not normal and I've never encountered it before, so I think it's theme related.
Hope that you had time to read the article that I send to you first.
Can you please share your Wordpress credentials here, because I need to login to your site and test this issue. Your information is safe here (private) in this thread.

The problem seems solved when I switch to the main theme. I used your child theme files enclosed in the download from Themeforest and didn't edit them, do you know where the issue might be?
I have no hurry (we haven't officially launched the site) so it's fine if Arlind can help me in the new year :)
I don't know if you celebrate Christmas, but if you do: enjoy! :)
Chile theme contains only the default functions.php file and the style.css file. Video: http://d.pr/v/REapAV.
You must only put the files that you want to modify on your child theme, and if you have added all the files of the Kalium Main theme, that is not correct and this is why you can have problems because if the same file (example.php) is on Child theme and on the Main theme, theme will only use the file on the Child theme. In your case those files are old and that's why this is happening.
Yes, fortunately I know that ;) My current child theme contains style.css, functions.php and custom-skin.css. So that's not the problem.
I suspect the error might have originated when I installed one of the demos. I just don't know how to fix it at this point. So I'm still hoping for help from Arlind in the new year.
Wishing you a good party to celebrate the old & new year on Sunday!
Hi there,
Thanks for your kind words
Kalium uses Adaptive Images technology:
(view on new page)
So on each screen size a different image size will show, that dramatically increases the speed of the site.
If you have speed problems or you are just worried about that, then please consider reading this article How to speed up my site.
Have a nice day!

Hi Lizzy,
I checked your issue the problem happened on my end to when i visited your Portfolio (https://josherder.genialewebsite.nl/portfolio).
Unfortunately our main developer (Arlind) can help you with this question, but he is not in the office until 02 January.
Until then can you please activate your Kalium Main theme and check if this issue happens again or it's only on your Child theme?
Thank you very much.

Thanks!
Hey Ylli,
Thanks for your wishes, I wish you guys the same :)
As for the site: the problem is solved. May I ask what was causing the problem? Was it something I did or an error in de demo files?
Thanks!
- Lizzy
Hi Lizzy,
This was a change inside the theme code.
Arlind fixed this by changing this code:
Have a great day!
