I am trying to create a portfolio of my paintings, using the Kalium theme.
The method seems to be the same than for some other themes I know, (like "Betheme/Muffin" that I own too) : - categories to create fot the portfolio, - then several portfolio items (with a category for each), - and at last the use of a widget "portfolio", to create on a special page in wordpress. So it is the "third method" of your tutorial here : http://documentation.laborator.co/kb/kalium/creating-a-portfolio-page/
So I created several categories, around 30 portfolio items, with thumbnails for each, a small description, and a big picture of the painting.
In a wordpress page, I use the visual composer to get the widget "portfolio". I choose a title, a description, a 4 or 3 columns, and I choose one of my portfolio categories.
But on the final display, if I get the title and the description of the portfolio, I get nothing more. The thumbnails of the portfolio items that would be selected (because of the category) don't appear at all.
is there something I'm doing wrong somewhere ? Thank you for your help.
Indeed the "peinture" page is the page for displaying the galeries paintings (and for each a category was created). So it is the page called "exploration" : mywebsite/peintures/explorations/ (and "Explorations" is the category name too).
I thank you very much for your help. I was wrong because I used the "category" field, instead of "taxynomy" (even if it is a category item !). So thank you.
I have 2 last questions in this chapter (portfolio!).
1) First of all, I have the impression that the General "Portfolio Settings" column options applies only on the main portfolio page, but not on the other pages, -> even with "inherit from theme option" choosen <-. Am I wrong ?
2) Second question : when creating a Portfolio Items on a page, how is it possible to hide the top field proposing the "all" and "sub-"categories ("All", "Sub-category 1", "Sub-category 2",...). (The fields on the same line than the description of the Portfolio Item displayed). You can see my "peintures/explorations/" page to see what I mean.
1— Yes you are right, some options on the Theme Options > Portfolio Settings are for the original portfolio page and some of them applies on Visual Composer element too. Based on what options you have selected there.
2— I think that you are asking how to hide the Filters, to do that you just need to disable that option on the Portfolio Items element parameters (Video: http://drops.laborator.co/cFIAiw).
Regarding your further questions, kindly open a new ticket and post your request so it will be helpful for the other users to take advantage of searching them on the forum, and we’re glad to help you in your new thread.

Hi stephan53,
Can you please share the exact page where you are trying to add your portfolio projects?
I can see that your Homepage and your Peintures page are empty and doesn't use any Visual Composer element (Video: http://drops.laborator.co/BpUeD6).
Thanks!

Hi stephan53,
Glad to hear that
As for your last two questions:
1— Yes you are right, some options on the Theme Options > Portfolio Settings are for the original portfolio page and some of them applies on Visual Composer element too. Based on what options you have selected there.

Once again I thank you very much.
Just a little and last thing : I couldn't find where are the colors theme options (especially for the footer, and for the fonts !)
Stephane
