I like the possibility of importing demo content very much. However, demo content is useful if I want to build a website that looks somehow similar to the demo page.
So my question is: What do I miss or what do I have to know, if I start «from the scratch» without demo content? For example: Do I have to add a lot of custom CSS (which I'm not good at) when I start without demo-specific CSS?

Some of the original demos such as Main, Agency, Freelancer, Store, Blogging don't use any CSS code. On the other demos we needed to add some CSS codes to change the style a little bit so those demos will be more different from others.
Kalium is based on minimal design so not much CSS is required to be written but if you want an unique style you should be ready to edit some CSS codes. We strongly recommend to read the Kalium Documentation so you will understand how to use features of Kalium, also you should consider watching some videos> How to use VC Page Builder this will make you more flexible on building your Home Page, Contact Page etc.
