Hi, I have used Google fonts in many other projects but this is the first time where custom font (supporting latin extended subset) is not loading in some sections of website properly. I have tried different things (tweaking css, !important, different font loading methods, etc.) but in some sections (mainly under the image some glyphs are replaced by sarif fonts. This is strange beacuse menu, slide, other parts of website load the fotn properly. I suspect there might be something interfering with the theme. Could you please help. Thank you.

Trying to change to different fonts (supporting latin extended glyphs) but still get the same problem.

    Hi Adrian,

I have managed to fix the font import so Open Sans is now properly imported in the page. The font is properly imported now:

    The URL:

    https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans%3Aregular%2C700&subsets=latin%2Clatin-ext&ver=e9cefb043674000adcd5c075177e95cb

    Hi Arlind,

thank you and sorry for my late reply due to my holiday.

However, fonts (glyphs) still do not load properly - even after clearing all caches - as you can see on this site (e.g. last words in last paragraphs, headings, etc.):

I am in dismay why fonts still do not load properly as this has not been the problem on any site I have created in the past.

Your help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Adrian

    Hi Adrian,

No worries, I hope you had great vacation.

I have tested your fonts but I think Open Sans doesn't  support those characters in your language, for this I have made the very simple setup and imported all character subsets of Open Sans font from Google and added your text in the test page:

    http://kaliumtheme.com/open-sans-test.html

As you can see these characters are not being replaced by the font.

To test ever further, I copied the text and pasted in Google fonts preview and it didn't rendered the font at all, see this video:

    http://drops.laborator.co/xAz8dQ

Can you find this font that supports your language characters and I can upload the font as custom font on your server.

P.S: Also when i added from my keyboard words like š, Š, č. They worked as it should, so i think that your problem is happening because you are using invalid characters, maybe when you copied the text. Please write those fonts from your keyboard.

I have also tested your "š" and the "š" I typed in my keyboard to get the character code and here is the difference:

    Hi Arlind,

    thank you for your reply.

    1. Latin extended perfectly covers my language and special glyphs it contains. No problem there. Besides, Open Sans is one of most used Google font - because of the fact it covers glyphs in other than Latin languages.

    2. But your hint about character encoding was really helpful. I was copying the text from PDF file supplied by my client. It turns out PDF files encode characters in ANSI so special glyphs were not encoded in UTf-8 as they needed to be. After retyping the text it is all resolved.

    Thank you for your help!

    Adrian

    Hi Adrian,

Oh, thats great! It was driving me crazy because I was doing a small research on this and in the end I have tested the character codes to see they are the same characters but from different set. I am glad that this worked for you.

P.S: If you like our theme, it would help us a lot if you could give us five star rating on themeforest from your Downloads tab. A huge thank you from Laborator in advance!
