Hi, I am trying to embed a youtube video into my post and according to the theme it is supposed to be wrapped with Videojs player, but YouTube native player is used instead.

I guess it's because of JetPack plugin enabled on my website, so there may be a Video.js library conflict. If i disable JetPack, everything is displayed properly, but I can't just disable jetpack as I really need the plugin.

    What should I do?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi true_pk

You tube video embed is default future of WordPress, it may it been caused due to php old version or any plugin, or video you are trying to embed is not allowed to be embed in your web site, try with other video also.

    Thank you.

All my plugins are up-to-date as well as the wordpress core and PHP. YouTube video is a proper one. As I said everything is working fine after I disable JetPack plugin

    Hi true_pk

Can you show me where did you read that Kalium supports video.js on blog post please?

    Thank you.

  • true_pk replied

    https://demo.kaliumtheme.com/blogging/youtube-video-and-autoplay/

Kalium doesn't support Video.js, Kalium use it in the core to wrap video posts.

Actually I will be glad if you assign the ticket to another specialist, I am not really happy with answers you provide, moreover I see insufficient knowledge of the issue from your side.

    Kind regards,

    Sergey

    Dear Sergey,

Sorry for any misunderstanding here. I am the developer of Kalium and can guide you how to solve this issue.

Well, the problem can be related to any filter from JetPack overriding the default one from our theme.

Before fixing this, I would require from you to wait for 2.1 update which includes complete new structure (template structure, functions and overall blog refinements). There are no changes in the design of blog, but behind its complete new thing and more stable.

The update will be available in the the next week (we have some tests to do before the release). So after you update Kalium to 2.1, I can login to your site via FTP to debug and fix this issue.

    I hope in your understanding.

    Hi again,

I think I have found a temporary fix for you:

    1. Download this plugin: http://drops.laborator.co/kQL28U

    2. Install and activate it

Then tell me if it works for you and YouTube videos are parsed by VideoJS plugin.

    Hi Arlind,

    Thank you very much!

It is the answer I was waiting for. The plugin works fine, but I updated it with Vimeo because it didn't work too, so it should be smth like this:

    $shortcodes_to_unload = array( 'youtube.php', 'vimeo.php' );

So now everything is working, YouTube, Vimeo and self-hosted videos. Nevertheless I hope one of the next Kalium releases will fix this problem and I will no longer need this additional plugin.

Also I will be happy if you start support JetPack plugin, because it is the most used all over the world.

Wish you guys best of luck, you do a great job!

    Thanks again,

    Sergey

    Hi Sergey,

Thank you very much for your suggestion. Yes, we will include this code in the upcoming update and do the best to support all Jetpack features.

    Have a great day there
