Configuring the homepage

    Hello Aurum devs,

    Maybe I overlooked it, but I cannot find a step by step documentation on how to configure the homepage so it looks like the demo (http://themes.laborator.co/aurum/fashion/) . Visual composer is new to me and to be honest it's a bit overwhelming.

    Could you point me in the right direction?

    Thank you in advance!

    Regards,

    Additional questions:

    -What is the best size for product images? In settings I see two dimensions: 555x710 and 290x370 (for thumbnails). But in what size should I upload the base/original images so they scale/crop nicely everywhere?

    -What is the best size for the full width header image, such as shown on the demo?

    Hi Inki,

    Welcome on the support system, regarding your question we have an article on the documentation that explains how you can get the same look as in our demo sites, you can read more about it here.

    You can upload the images at any size since you can change the thumbnail sizes and they will crop nice, or you can show the original image size, in our demo the images are sized 870x1110

    The header image (LayerSlider) does not have a specific size, you will set it to 100% and it is responsive so it will automatically be fitted to any device/size.

    Best regards,
    Laborator Team

    Hi Art,

    Thanks for that. Managed to replicate nearly everything thanks to demo content, except:

    -The 4 blocks featured, new products, on sale and top rated on the single product page (http://themes.laborator.co/aurum/fashion/product/billionaire-boys/). Can you tell me how to get those?

    -The slider image that is the entire width of the screen like on the homepage (http://themes.laborator.co/aurum/fashion/). Do I just need to use a certain size image and upload that one in LayerSlider?

    Thanks.

    Hi Inki,

    1. Adding the following CSS in your Custom CSS area will remove the top and bottom margin from the page:

    .page-container {
        margin-top: 0px;
        margin-bottom: 0px;
    }

    2. Unfortunately that's not possible, you cannot add Visual Composer elements in the shop products element.

    3. Both of them, they match together if they're in the same category or have the same tags, read this article as explained further.

    4. I can't see a sidebar there on the link you provided.

    5. You can set that in the theme options, see image below:

    6. Sometimes the button link is buggy, it may be because of that and you will need to re-set the link to anywhere. If that doesn't work then we will need your login credentials, because we need to login to your site and see this issue live. Your information is safe (private) in this thread.

    To include your credentials click Insert Credentials button in editor toolbar. (See how)

    Hi Inki,

    4. I understand what you mean now, I have explained this in the image below:

    6. The button is showing fine, there is not any bug here it is because you have not typed anything to show for the button. I have added a button title by re-editing the URL and now it is showing.

    7. I have added some extra CSS in Custom CSS > Responsive  so your logo should show correctly now on each device.

    Best regards,
    Laborator Team

    4. I already had those WooCommerce widgets in the ' shop footer widgets ', but they're not showing up on the product pages. Am I missing something again?

    6. Oh, that was stupid of me. Didn't see the ' button text'. Sorry to have wasted your time on that.

    7. Thanks. Works just fine on tablet now.

    Hi Inki,

    4. You have to enable it on Laborator > Theme Options > Shop Settings by ticking the Show footer sidebar option, I have already done this for you.

    Hi Inki,

    It's not that you're annoying us with questions as this is why the support system is, we want to keep it clean by not extending further the tickets to more issues because it is more easy for us to search for the same problem later, and for the other users also (if the ticket is public).

    P.S: If you like our theme, it would help us a lot if you could give us five star rating on themeforest from your Downloads tab, (if you don't know how, just open this link).

    A huge thank you from Laborator in advance!

    Best regards,
    Laborator Team
