I've played with the map style - importing style sheets from Snazzy Maps - this only changes the looks of the map.
What I miss is the three buttons making it possible to change between roadmap, satellite and hybrid. And also the possibility to go intro street view mode

I've checked the map type control, but only plus minus zoom appears. How come?

These checkboxes under Map Control can give you all controls you need on map, play around with buttons to see the changes.

Problem fixed, there where an CSS on your Custom CSS that removed the Google Maps buttons.
Street view is available only if you choose those options:

I just left the options like you see on the last attached image and then i removed this CSS code from your Custom CSS area:

}
