That is not possible on the yoursite.com/portfolio page because that page is reserved only for the portfolio projects and you can't add anything besides portfolios there.
If you want to create any page with Portfolios, Sliders or any other Visual Composer content then you can create a new page for example youriste.com/works and there you can use Portfolio Items from Visual Composer widget.
